SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cabrini College softball team fell to 10-8 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) after today's 6-1 and 9-2 losses at Marywood University. The losses drop the Blue and White to 7th place in the CSAC.
The Cavaliers mustered just seven hits in the opener. Two came off the bat of freshman Stephanie Diegel, whose team-leading fourth home run of the season, accounted for the Blue and White's only run.
Cabrini had its chances, leaving 11 runners on base, including at least two runners in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings.
Marywood's junior Meghin Palmer went 3-3 with three runs scored. Senior Jillian Flanagan knocked in four runs.
The Cavaliers fell behind early in game two, as the Pacers posted three runs in bottom of the first inning.
Cabrini rallied in the second. Freshman Rebecca Miles singled to left field to lead off the frame. Diegel's double down the left field line put two Cavaliers in scoring position.

Lea Enoch plated Diegel. A pair of strikeouts with two runners on base ended Cabrini's threat.
Marywood responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning, establishing an 8-2 lead.
The Blue and White recorded just two hits in the game's final five innings.
Pacers' senior Kim Lope led Marywood with three hits and three runs scored in the nightcap.
The Cavaliers will step out of conference for a doubleheader at Widener University on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
