ROSEMONT, Pa. –
The Cabrini College pounded five extra base hits, including a pair of triples and a home run, followed by a dominant pitching performance in sweeping the Rosemont College Ravens today.

The 12-6 and 9-0 wins improve the Cavaliers to 8-4 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) and 13-13 overall.

The Blue and White wasted little time igniting its offense in the opener.  Senior Sammy Thompson drew a walk and junior Lindsey Atzert reached on a bunt to open the game.

Both crossed the plate two batters later on senior Angela Shookster's first career triple to right field.  Shookster then scored on a sacrifice fly by freshman Rebecca Miles.

Cabrini's bats stayed hot in the second. Junior Taylor McGarvey reached on a bunt to lead off the frame and advanced to second on a Thompson sacrifice bunt.  Senior Ryan McDonough plated McGarvey with a single up the middle.

Shookster's second triple of the day scored McDonough.  Miles posted her second RBI of the day with a double to center that sent Shookster across the dish.  Fellow freshman Stephanie Diegel's single scored Miles, giving Cabrini a 7-0 lead in the middle of the second inning.

The Cavaliers mustered just two hits between the third and sixth innings, as Rosemont cut Cabrini's lead to 7-5.  The Blue and White's bats woke up in the top of the seventh, as it turned three hits and two Rosemont errors into five runs.

With Shookster on first, Miles singled to left before advancing to second on a Rosemont error.  The error allowed a hustling Shookster to score from first.  The inning's second error allowed Diegel to reach base and advance to third, as Miles crossed the plate.

Junior Missy Miller then scored Diegel on a pinch hit double to centerfield.  Thompson then hit her first career home run, a two-run shot to right center field.

After a big RBI double in the opener, Miller took the circle for game two and offered a dominant performance, allowing just one hit, while striking out five batters.

Cabrini's offense backed up Miller, as Thompson took advantage of a Rosemont error, turning a single into the Cavaliers' first run of the game.

The Blue and White put the game away in the top of the third inning.  After a single, freshman Lea Enoch advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches, before scoring on Atzert's single through the left side.

Atzert reached third after her eighth stolen base of the year and another wild pitch.  The junior crossed the plate on McDonough's single to left.  Shookster, Miles and Diegel then followed with consecutive RBI doubles, sending Cabrini to a 6-0 lead in the middle of the third inning.

The Cavaliers added a pair of runs in the top of the fifth when Diegel's triple to right scored Shookster and Miles.

The Cavaliers will return to Cabrini field on Tuesday when they host Notre Dame (Md.).  The CSAC doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
