Girolamo's 5 Points Leads Men's Soccer to Victory

Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – After scoring just one goal in its last two games, the Cabrini College men's soccer team found its scoring touch tonight as they topped Cairn University 3-0 at Edith Robb Dixon Field.  The victory improves Cabrini's record to 3-5-1 and 1-0 in the CSAC.

That scoring touch came mainly from the feet of senior Anthony Girolamo, who had the best scoring game of his career.  The senior posted his first career multi-goal game and a career best five points.

Sophomore George Lambritsios opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when he collected a pass from Girolamo and fired it into the net for his second goal of the season.

Girolamo made his way back to the goal in the 33rd minute when he hooked up with sophomore Sean Neary to double Cabrini's advantage.

While the rain started to fall early in the game, just minutes after Girolamo's goal, the game was delayed about 30 minutes for a passing storm.  After the delay, the Blue and White carried its 2-0 lead into the second half.

Girolamo capped his day in the 51st minute when he added a breakaway goal to his tally.

The Cavaliers outshot the Highlanders 18-4 led by Girolamo and junior Brett Lockbaum who each recorded four shots, two on goal.

Defensively, the Cavaliers never allowed Cairn to get on track, holding the Highlanders without a corner kick.  Junior goaltender Eric Nowicki recorded one save to preserve his sixth career shutout.

The Cavaliers will host Keystone College on Wednesday at Edith Robb Dixon Field.  The CSAC tilt is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
