RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College men's basketball team rebounded from a slow start to secure sole possession of first place in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with today's 94-79 win over Keystone College.   With the victory, the Blue and White now stand at 14-5 overall and 10-2 in the CSAC.

Senior Jeremy Knowles led four Cavaliers in double figure scoring with a career high 29 points.  Knowles hit 11-19 from the field, including 5-9 from three point range, and matched a career high with four steals.  Junior Fran Rafferty added 21 points and senior A.J. Williams 12 points.  Sophomore Aaron Walton Moss recorded his third double-double in 10 games with 14 points and 14 rebounds, along with seven assists and three steals.

As has been their custom, the Cavaliers got off to a slow start. But for a 25 second span early in the game, the Giants controlled the scoreboard in the early going.  A traditional three point play extended Keystone's lead to 21-13 with 10:45 to play before halftime.  A Rafferty lay-up followed by a dunk by senior DeLeon Floyd cut the deficit back to three but Giants rebuilt their lead to a game high 34-25 with jus t under five minutes remaining in the half.

A three pointer and lay-up by Williams bookended an 11-2 Cabrini run, tying the score at 36.  A Brad Fagan lay-up gave the Cavaliers their first lead since 5-3 at 42-40 with 30 seconds to play in the half.  After 20 minutes, the Blue and White carried a 42-41 lead into the break.

The Giants grabbed an early lead after the break, extending it to four points, four minutes into the half.  A Walton-Moss lay-up and Rafferty three pointer returned the lead to the Cavaliers and spurred the Blue and white to a 17-2 run over the next four minutes.  Rafferty tallied 10 of his points during the spurt, while the Giants connected on just one of their seven shot attempts.  With just north of 12 minutes on the Clock, the Cavaliers found themselves with a 62-51 lead.

The Blue and White didn't relax with a tough Keystone club on the other bench.  A three point by Knowles increased Cabrini's lead to 19 with 5:37 to play.  The Giants managed to whittle its deficit back to 13 before Fagan's two hand dunk with 2:05 to play put an exclamation point on the win.

Unlike last Saturday's loss at Keystone, the Blue and White dominated the painted area.  Cabrini outscored Keystone 56-28 and outrebounded the Giants 48-35.  Cabrini turned its 13 offensive rebounds into 19 second chance points.

Fagan finished with six points and four rebounds, while Floyd chipped in with four points and seven boards.

Senior Greg Westry and sophomore Duncan Lundsford led the Giants (12-7, 9-3 CSAC) with matching 23 points and eight rebound efforts.  Sophomore Dan Candemeres added 14 points in the loss.

The Cavaliers will return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Aston, Pa. to face Neumann University.  Game time is slated for approximately 8:00 p.m., following the Cabrini Neumann women's game.

Cabrini posted an 84-55 victory in the teams' last meeting on January 9 at Nerney Field House.  Knowles led four Cavaliers in double figure scoring with 18 points and eight rebuonds.
