RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College men's basketball team grabbed an early lead and never looked back as they improved to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with today's 94-56 win over the visiting Cairn University Highlanders. The 94 points marks Cabrini's highest scoring effort of the season.
The Cavaliers displayed a balanced effort as 13 of the 14 players marked the scoring column and 11 grabbed at least one rebound with no player seeing more than 19 minutes of action. Junior
Fran Rafferty led the club with 15 points on 5-6 shooting, including 2-3 from three point range. Senior
A.J. Williams added 10 points, while junior
Tim McDaniels tallied nine.
The Highlanders posted the game's first five points before Cabrini embarked on a 16-3 run, including points by four of the Cavaliers' five starters. The Blue and White continued to pressure Cairn, turning nine first half turnovers into 16 points. A three-pointer by freshman
John White extended Cabrini's lead to 50-23 with just 80 seconds left in the opening stanza. After 20 minutes, the Blue and White took a 50-29 lead into the halftime break.
Cabrini continued to extend its lead after the break, as the Cavaliers connected on 16-30 field goals after the break, including 6-12 from three-point range. The Blue and White focused on dominating the paint as it outscored Cairn 18-8 in the lane and controlled the glass 22-15 after the break.

Junior Aaron Stovall led the highlanders (1-9, 0-5 CSAC) with 17 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Alec Filippini added 10 points in the loss.
Cabrini will return to action on Wednesday as they host Neumann University in the second half of a CSAC women's and men's doubleheader at Nerney Field House. The women's game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 8:00 p.m.
