Men's Soccer 4-0 Victory Extends Streak to Five

Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's soccer team continued its rebound from a disappointing start to the season with today's 4-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy University at Edith Robb Dixon Field.  The Cavaliers fifth consecutive victory evened their overall record to 5-5-2 and improved them to 2-0 in league play.

Freshman A.J. Bishop continued his torrid scoring pace in the 13th minute, tallying his sixth goal in Cabrini's last seven games.  The Cavaliers carried the 1-0 lead into halftime after a very evenly played opening stanza.  Head coach Rob Dallas asked his club to turn up the pressure after the break and they responded.

Bishop marked the score book again in the 60th minute on an unassisted tally, his seventh of the year and second on the day.  The Cavaliers put the game away with a pair of goals in a 2:15 stretch midway through the second half.

Freshman Mo Konneh tallied his first career point when his cross found senior C.J. Doherty's head in the 72nd minute.  Moments later, junior Rey Jimenez converted his own rebound for his second goal of the season and 4-0 lead with 17 minutes to play.

Bishop, Konneh and fellw freshman Bobby Kane combined for nine of Cabrini's 18 shots on the day.  Senior goaltender Eric Nowicki recorded four saves to record his ninth career shutout.

The Cavaliers will return to action on Tuesday when they visit La Plume, Pa. to face Keystone College.  The CSAC action is slated for 3:00 p.m.
