Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College secured its fifth consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference championship game appearance with tonight's 90-77 victory over the visiting Neumann University Knights.  With the win, the Blue and White improve to 21-5 and extend its win streak to 10 games.  The victory was also the 200th career win for Cabrini head coach Marcus Kahn, 123 coming with the Cavaliers.

Four players tallied double figures on the night, led by sophomore Aaron Walton-Moss' career high 30 points, to go with 12 rebounds, eight assists and four steals.  Junior Fran Rafferty connected on 4-4 from three point range, pairing 17 points and seven rebounds.  Junior Tim McDaniels posted 12 points and four assists, while senior DeLeon Floyd matched a career high with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Rafferty got the Blue and White off to a great as a pair of his three pointers helped Cabrini open the game 10-0 before the Knights responded, cutting their deficit to 16-15 four minutes into the action.  Five quick points extended Cabrini's lead back to six points but an 8-0 Neumann spurt handed the Knights their first lead of the game at 24-21 with 8:38 to play before the half.

Neumann's advantage grew to five points before the Cavaliers responded.  Cabrini turned to its defense and rebounding pressure to spark an 11-0 run, building a six point lead with 30 seconds left in the half.  While the Knights went 0-4 during the 3:20 spurt, the Cavaliers secured all 9 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass.  After 20 minutes, the Blue and White took a 40-34 lead into halftime.

Cabrini showed no let up after the break as it expanded its advantage to a game high 56-41 with a three pointer by senior Jeremy Knowles with 14:29 left on the clock.  A 9-3 Neumann spurt sliced the Cavaliers' lead back to 61-54 but McDaniels and Walton-Moss hit buckets in the paint to push the lead back to 11 points.

The Knights got as close as 70-66 with 4:22 to play, but again the Blue and White had a response.  A Walton-Moss lay-up, two Knowles free throws and a McDaniels three pointers pushed the lead back to 11 with just over two minutes left in regulation.

While the Cavaliers connected on 45.5% of its field goal attempts, it was Cabrini's rebounding that was a big factor in the win.  The Cavaliers outrebounded Neumann 50-37, including 20-12 on the offensive glass, helping Cabrini attempt 14 more field goals than Neumann.

Knowles finished the game with nine points and five rebounds, while fellow senior Goran Dulac added four points and nine boards, including seven on the offensive side.

Junior Reggie Coleman led the Knights (13-14) with 20 points, while junior Rich Whitten added 18 points.  Junior Dom Gibson hit 5-9 from beyond the arc for 15 points.

The Cavaliers will welcome the Keystone College Giants (18-9) to Nerney Field House on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in  a rematch of last year's CSAC championship game.   The Blue and White raised its third consecutive conference crown with last year's 86-79 championship game win.  Walton-Moss was named MVP after his 18 point, 18 rebound performance.

Keystone advanced to the title game after topping Gwynedd-Mercy 83-76 in Gwynedd, Pa.  After scoring 40 points in the Giants' first round victory over Centenary, sophomore Duncan Lunsford scored a game high 32 points on 10-18 from the floor and 10-12 from the free throw line against the Griffins.  Fellow sophomore Dan Candemeres added a season high 23 points for the Giants.

The clubs split their two games this season, each winning on its home floor.  Keystone posted a 102-87 win in La Plume.  The Giants built a 52-28 lead with 5:41 left in the first half before Cabrini rallied.  The Cavaliers got as close as 75-69 but three consecutive turnovers allowed Keystone to pull away.  The loss marked the first time Cabrini had allowed 100 points since February 27, 2009.

The Blue and White returned the favor on January 26 with a 94-79 home win that gave the Cavaliers sole possession of first place in the CSAC.  After again trailing early, Cabrini rallied to tie take a 42-41 lead after 20 minutes.  The Cavaliers used a 17-2 second half run to secure the victory.
