RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College men's basketball team maintained its hold on the Colonial States Athletic Conference championship with tonight's 90-74 win over the visiting Keystone College Giants.  The victory gave the Blue and White its fourth consecutive CSAC title and the 12th in program history.  The Cavaliers also improved to 22-5 overall with their 11th consecutive win.

The Blue and White got a balanced scoring effort with six players posting at least nine points.   Junior Fran Rafferty was named the game's Most Valuable Player with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Fellow junior Jon Miller recorded a career high 17 points, while senior Jeremy Knowles added 15 points off the bench.

Rafferty opened the scoring with a three pointer on Cabrini's first possession and the Cavaliers never surrendered the lead.   A Miller lay-up extended Cabrini's advantage to 13-4 just over four minutes into play.  The Cavaliers managed to keep their lead between 6-10 points over the final 11 minutes of the half.  Keystone kept the game within reach, holding the Blue and White from their patented late half spurt.  Both team remained scoreless over the final 2:19 of the half, as Cabrini took a 42-34 lead into halftime.

Both teams shot well from the floor in the opening stanza, Keystone at 48.3% and the Blue and White at 54.8%, including knocking down six three pointers each.  Miller led the Cavaliers in the opening half with 11 points, while Rafferty and sophomore Aaron Walton-Moss added six points each.

The early minutes of the second half mirrored much of the first until a Knowles three pointer gave Cabrini a bit of breathing room, extending the lead to 60-48 with 13:22 on the clock.  That bucket provided the cushion the Cavaliers needed.  Each time Keystone seemed poised to make a run, the Blue and White had an answer.

The Giants got within six points at 74-68 with 5:22 on the clock, but as they have done all season, the Cavaliers turned up the defensive pressure to key a quick spurt.  Cabrini forced turnovers on Keystone's next three possessions and turned them into three consecutive lay-ups, rebuilding its lead back to 12 with 4:15 to play.  The Blue and White sealed the win by connecting on 8-8 from the free throw line in the game's final minutes.

The Cavaliers dominated the glass to the tune of a 42-25 rebounding advantage.  Twelve of those boards came on the offensive end, leading to a 19-9 advantage in second chance points.  Walton-Moss joined Rafferty with 10 rebounds, while Knowles secured seven.

Walton-Moss added 11 points and seven assists to his stat line.  Senior A.J. Williams also tallied 11 points and grabbed five rebounds.  Junior Tim McDaniels chipped in with nine points.

Sophomore Duncan Lunsford led three Giants (18-10) in double figures with a game high 20 points.  Senior Mike Kelly added 19 points and seven boards, while sophomore Dan Candemeres scored 16 points and handed out seven assists.

By virtue of winning the conference title, the Cavaliers have secured their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and the 11th in program history.  Cabrini must wait until Monday's NCAA Selection Show to learn who and where it will play in next weekend's opening round.
