PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Cabrini College men's basketball student-athlete
A.J. Williams was honored as a Sam Cozen Small College Basketball Player of the Week by the Philadelphia Area Small College Coaches Association at the group's luncheon on Tuesday.
Williams, a business administration major, led the Cavaliers to a pair of CSAC road wins last week. The senior paired a game high 17 points with six rebounds in Cabrini's 82-61 win at Neumann. He followed that with a solid all-around performance of seven points, five rebounds, six assists and a career high five steals as the Blue and White topped Immaculata 87-65.
For the season, Williams scores 12.3 points, fourth on the team and 14th in the CSAC, and grabs three rebounds. His 2.4 assists per game rank second on the team, while his 2.3 steals tops the league.
Now in its 26th year, the Philadelphia Area Small College Coaches Association honors small college basketball players for their performance on the court, as well as their leadership and academic success. The award is named after Sam Cozen, the longtime head basketball coach at Drexel University and Overbrook High School.
The Cavaliers (17-5, 13-2 CSAC) will put their 6 game win streak on the line tomorrow when they welcome the Gwynedd-Mercy College Griffins to Nerney Field House. Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 8:00 p.m. following the women's game.
