ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Cabrini College scored its first two wins of the season and the first two wins for first year head coach Mitchell Kline with today's 6-2 and 8-0 sweep of Rosemont College.  The victories improve the Blue and White to 2-4 on the season.

The Cavaliers jumped out early, taking advantage of a Rosemont error in the top of the first inning.  After freshman Molly McDougall walked, the rookie advanced to third when the Ravens misplayed freshman Katie Hall's sacrifice bunt attempt.  Sophomore Kaitlyn Cooper's single plated McDougall giving Cabrini an early lead.

Cabrini broke the game open in the third inning after loading the bases with no outs.  Hall's single, Cooper's walk and a single by sophomore Steph Diegel put sophomore Becca Miles in a great position and she came through.  Miles tripled to center field, clearing the bases.

The Blue and White added an unearned run in the fourth, as Hall crossed the plate after Diegel singled and advanced to second on a Rosemont error.  The Ravens finally broke through with a run in the fifth, but Cabrini got the run back in the sixth.

The Cavaliers knocked out 11 hits in the win, including two each by Diegel and Miles.  Senior Marcelle Crist allowed just four hits and struck out six Ravens on the day, while allowing no earned runs.

Cabrini wasted little time in game two, taking an early lead in the second inning.  After Diegel's double to left, junior Bethany Feinberg's single advanced Diegel to third.  Senior Taylor McGarvey reached on a Rosemont error, scoring Diegel.

The Cavaliers added a pair of runs in the third as Cooper's triple scored senior Lindsey Atzert, before Cooper crossed the plate on a wild pitch.  In the fourth, McGarvey scored on a McDougall sacrifice fly, extending the Blue and White lead to 4-0.

The Blue and White ended the game with a flurry in the fifth, tallying four runs.  Sophomore Jessica Irvin drew a bases loaded walk to score Miles.  McDougall then plated McGarvey and Diegel with a single to left field.  The game ended as Cooper reached first on an error by the pitcher, allowing Irvin to score.

Atzert and Irvin combined for five of the Cavaliers' 11 hits in game two.  McDougall closed game two with three runs batted in.  Senior Missy Miller matched held the Ravens scoreless, while matching Crist's performance in the pitcher's circle, allowing just four Rosemont hits.

The Blue and White will look to even its record on Saturday as it visits Baltimore for a CSAC doubleheader at Notre Dame (Md.) University.  Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
