BALTIMORE, Md. – The Cabrini College softball team extended its win streak to three games with today's 8-3 win at Notre Dame (Md.) University.  Game two of the scheduled Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader was postponed due to weather.  The Blue and White improved to 3-4 on the season, 3-0 in the conference,  with the win.

The Gators jumped out to an early lead, as they plated three runs on three base hits off freshman Molly McDougall in her collegiate pitching debut.  The Cavalier
began chiping away at the deficit immediately.  Sophomore Becca Miles crossed the dish on a sacrifice fly off the bat of freshman Katie Hall.

Cabrini leveled the score with a pair of runs in the third as a single by sophomore Steph Diegel scored senior pitcher Marcelle Crist and fellow senior Lindsey Atzert.  The Cavaliers blew it open in the sixth inning, as it took advantage of four base hits and a few Notre Dame miscues to score four runs.

Atzert led pf the frame with a single, eventually scoring on a passed ball.  Freshman Kaitlyn Cooper's single scored Crist.  Cooper matriculated around the diamond, scoring a Hall single.  Senior Taylor McGarvey reached second on an error that allowed Hall to cross the plate.

The Cavaliers added an insurance run in the top of the seventh when Cooper doubled and scored as Miles reached on a Notre Dame error.

Diegel led the Blue and White with three base hits, while a quartet added two each.  Diegel and Hall recorded two RBI, each.  After a tough first inning, Crist shut down the Gators from the pitchers circle, allowing just two hits and striking out nine Gators in six innings of work.

Cara Corsaro led Notre Dame (Md.) (0-5, 0-3 CSAC) with two hits.

Cabrini will return to action on Tuesday, when it welcomes Haverford College to Cabrini Field for a nonconference doubleheader.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
