MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Cabrini College softball team closed its Spring Break trip still searching for its first win of the season, after falling to Randolph College 9-5 and King's College 4-2 on Wednesday. While the 0-4 Cavaliers did not secure a victory, the Blue and White banged out a total of 13 hits and scored its first runs of the season, as opposed to notching just six hits in its first two games.
The Cavaliers got off to a great start against Randolph (11-2), taking an early lead as sophomore

Molly McDougall for a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Randolph rallied to plate three runs in the bottom of the second but the Blue and White fired back in the top of the third.

Stacie Roller knocked in her first two collegiate RBI with a single to left field, scoring sophomore

Lindsey Atzert continued the rally with a pair of two-out RBI, as her single to left plated Roller and senior
Missy Miller, giving Cabrini a 5-3 lead midway through the third.
The Cavaliers maintained their lead until the bottom of the fifth inning. Randolpf took advantage of Cabrini errors in the fifth and sixth inning, along with six hits, to plate six runs.
Atzert led the Cavaliers with a pair of base hits. Miller surrendered nine hits and just one earned run in six innings in the pitcher's circle.
The Cavaliers closed the trip with a tight game against King's College (7-1). King's jumped in front in the bottom of the first, as it tallied three runs on four hits. The Blue and White got a run back in the top of the second as sophomore
Becca Miles clubbed her first home run of the season, a blast to left field to open the frame.
The score remained 3-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning, when King's added what turned out to be an insurance run. Down to its final at bat, the Blue and White looked to rally. McDougall's two out single to right scored junior
Jennifer Ciambriello but the Cavaliers could muster just one run.
Junior
Marcelle Crist went 2-2 at the plate and allowed just one earned run in five innings from the pitching rubber. The junior also struck out four against just one walk. McDougall allowed a run in one inning of relief.
The Cavaliers will return to action on March 13, when they welcome Eastern University to Cabrini Field. First pitch for the nonconference doubleheader is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
