RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini softball salvaged a split of today's Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader against the visiting Keystone College Giants. The Cavaliers lost the opener 4-0 before rallying for the 6-4 win in the nightcap. The Blue and White stand at 9-10 overall and 8-5 in the conference after today's contests.
Similar to yesterday's first game, the Cavaliers struggled to get its offense going. The Blue and White mustered just four hits in the game.
Keystone opened the scoring in the top of the second inning, scoring a run on two hits, before adding a second run in the fourth. Cabrini threatened in the bottom of the fourth, as freshman
Kaitlyn Cooper opened the frame with a single down the left field line and sophomore
Becca Miles drew a walk. Both advanced a bag on a passed ball. After a line out, freshman
Molly McDougall draw a two out walk, loading the bases, but a strikeout ended the scoring chance.

Katie Hall singled to second and advanced to second on a balk. Senior
Taylor McGarvey's single gave the Blue and White runners on first and second with one out. Hall was called out at third on Cooper's fielder's choice before sophomore's
Steph Diegel's fly out ended the inning. The Giants sealed the victory with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Missy Miller fell to 4-5 on the year after surrendering three earned runs on nine hits.
The Cavaliers wasted little time getting on the board in the second game, plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. McGarvey reached first on a Keystone error before advancing to second on her third stolen base of the season. Cooper's single sent McGarvey to third. Both McGarvey and Cooper crossed the plate on Diegel's team leading sixth double of the year.
Cabrini added to its lead in the third when Crist, who drew an inning opening walk, rounded the bases and scored on a single by senior
Lindsey Atzert. The Giants cut into their deficit with a run in the third but the Cavaliers got the run back in the bottom half of the inning. Cooper opened the inning with a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch. They rookie was aggressive on the base paths, scoring on a pop out to second.
Keystone rallied in the fifth, tying the score at 4-4 on the strength of a two run homer. The score remained tied until Cabrini's half of the sixth. Sophomore
Jessica Irvin drew walk and advanced to second on an Atzert single. McGarvey's walk loaded the bases with one out before Cooper drew the third walk of the frame, plating Irvin. Diegel then scored Atzert with a sacrifice fly to centerfield.
The Giants had runners on second and third with two outs, but senior hurler
Marcelle Crist forced a pop up to seal the win.
Cooper accounted for three of the Cavaliers six hits in the game, while Diegel knocked in two runs. Crist improved to 4-5 on the season after scattering 12 hits and allowing four earned runs.
The Cavaliers will step out of conference for its next two contests. They will visit Wesley College on Monday for a 3:00 p.m. double dip.
