RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's soccer team suffered its second consecutive loss today, falling to Lebanon Valley College 3-0 in the opening game of this weekend's Eagle Road Classic. With the loss, the Cavaliers now stand at 0-2-2 on the season.
The match remained scoreless until the 39th minute, when a Cabrini defensive miscue led to an own goal. The Dutchmen carried the 1-0 lead the halftime break, before doubling the advantage in the opening minutes of the second stanza. Lebanon Valley put the game away in the 76th minute.
The Blue and White had its chances, recording a season-high 13 shots in the game and forcing eight corner kicks to the Dutchmen's eight. Unfortunately, its two shots on target also matched a season-low.
Senior Brett Lockbaum, junior Sean Neary and freshman Logan Howell led the attack with three shots each. Sophomore goaltender R.J. Pino posted six saves in the loss.
Freshman Josh Ferguson and senior Garth Stefan tallied the goals for the Dutchmen (3-0).
The Blue and White have little time to recover as they will host Alvernia University on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Crusaders (2-1) dropped a 2-0 result at Eastern University this afternoon in the Classic's other game. Eastern will also host Lebanon Valley on Saturday.
