No. 3 Cavaliers Ground the Ravens 92-78

Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – After a tough start, the Cabrini men's basketball team found its stride and ran to a 92-78 home victory of the Rosemont College Ravens.  The victory improved the No. 3 Cavaliers to 13-0 overall and 7-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Junior Aaron Walton-Moss messed around and posted his first career triple double, tallying 17 points, 15 rebounds and a career high 10 assists.  The junior shot 7-12 from the floor and recorded four steals in 32 minutes on the floor.

Senior Jon Miller added 20 points on the night, connecting on 6-7 from the floor and 8-8 from the free throw line.  Freshman Deryl Bagwell and sophomore Brad Fagan posed 11 and 10 points off the bench, recpectively.

The game remained tight over the opening 13 minutes of play as Cabrini struggled to find its footing against Rosemont's high pressure, double teaming defense.  Trailing 24-23 with 7:01 left in the opening half, the Cavaliers took control of the game.

Over the next 4:29, the Cavaliers went on a 17-2 run, with six players marking the scoring column, to build a 40-26 lead.   A buzzer beating three pointer for Rosemont's Dan Kearney sent the teams into the halftime break with the Blue and White leading 44-34.

Whatever doubt remained in the building, was immediately eliminated in the opening minutes of the second half.  Cabrini scored the opening seven points of the second half, a run that extended to 21-6 in the first five minutes of the stanza.  With 15 minutes on the clock, the Cavaliers extended their lead to 65-40.

Cabrini surpassed 90 points for the ninth time this season and shot a season high 57.7% from the field.  The team's eight blocked shots also marked a season high, while its 18 assists are the second most on the season.

Junior Dom Scafidi led three Ravens (6-8, 4-3 CSAC) in double figures with 20 points and eight rebounds.  Freshman Kyle Lafferty added 17 points and junior Nadir Stukes 10 points in the loss.

Cabrini will have a few days off before it returns to action on Monday, when the Marywood University Pacers (5-8, 1-5 CSAC) pay a visit to Nerney Field House.  Tip is slated for 8:00 p.m. as the second half of a women's and men's CSAC doubleheader.  The ladies will face the Pacers at 6:00 p.m.
