Volleyball Extends Streak With 3-0 Win over Elizabethtown

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini volleyball team stepped out of conference play tonight, but the result remained the same, as the Cavaliers extended their win streak with tonight's 3-0 win over Elizabethtown College.

The victory improved the Blue and White to 22-5. It also extended the club's win streak to 16 matches, the longest win streak in program history.

Tonight's action also marked the Blue and White's annual fundraiser to help fight cancer.  The Cavaliers joined hundreds of middle school, high school and college teams around the country in The Side-Out Foundation's Dig Pink campaign to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.

The Blue and White wore pink warm-ups, jerseys and shoe laces through the match. All proceeds from tonight's bake sale and other donations will donated to charity.

The Cavaliers displayed a balanced attack in tonight's 25-18, 25-19, 25-15 triumph. Five players recorded at least seven kills, led by freshman Anne-Marie Jones, who posted her sixth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs.  Fellow rookie Chelsea Jones and junior Jen Grenauer added nine kills.

Junior Cassidy Koenig recorded 31 assist to go with her seven digs, while sophomore Kelly Guarino scored 13 digs.

Koenig, sophomore Nicole Sokolovich and senior Amy Guarino tallied two service aces each on the night.

The Blue and White will return to the Nerney Field House floor tomorrow night as it hosts Notre Dame  of Maryland University at 7:00 p.m. The Cavaliers will celebrate the careers of its two seniors Amy Guarino and Dana Wisniewski prior to the match.
