RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini softball continued its solid play as it swept Cairn University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference doubleheader today at Cabrini Field. The Cavaliers rallied for a 6-5 walkoff win in the opener, then outslugged the Highlanders in the nightcap for a 13-5 win in five innings. The victories improve the Blue and White to 4-7 overall and 4-2 in the CSAC.
The Highlanders plated a run in the top of the first inning of the opener, but Cabrini evened the score in the bottom half as freshman
Lindsay Savar's double to left plated freshman
Amber Dietrich. The Cavaliers added a second run in the second, as sophomore
Lea Enoch scored on a double by freshman
Natalie Giannascoli.
Cairn scored single runs in the third and fifth inning and used a two run home run in the top of the seventh to build a 5-2 lead. The Blue and White was down to its last three outs but they wouldn't need them.
Dietrich led off the frame with her second home run of the season. Savar singled to center and was replaced on the base paths by sophomore Molly McDougal. Fellow sophomore
Kaitlyn Cooper's single through the left side sent McDougal to third. After Cooper swiped second, junior
Steph Diegel scored McDougal with a single down the left field line, cutting the deficit to 5-4.
Freshman
Brianna Milillo replaced Diegel at first but wasn't there for long. The rookie stole second before the next batter, junior

Freshman
Kiley Sharp allowed five earned runs and struck out three Highlanders to earn the victory. Savar finished the opener 3-4 with an RBI, while Miles had two base hits and knocked in a run in the victory.
Cairn grabbed an early lead in the nightcap, as well, plating three runs in the top of the first. The Blue and White responded in a big way, clubbing 10 hits and scoring nine runs in the bottom of the first. Dietrich led off with a bunt single and scored on Savar's RBI double. Cooper drew a walk and scored behind Dietrich on Diegel's single to centerfield.
Miles cleared the bases with her first home run of the season. Freshman
Taylor Gallagher started another rally with a single to center before advancing to second on a passed ball. The rookie scored on Milillo's double to right center.
Fellow freshman
Taylor Mack plated Milillo with a double to left. In her second plate appearance of the inning, Dietrich clubbed her second home run of the game, scoring Mack, for a 9-3 lead. The game remained 9-3 until the third inning when Gallagher's single through the left side scored Cooper for a 10-3 lead.
The Highlanders tried to rally in the fourth, scoring two runs but their rally was thwarted in the bottom of the fourth. Milillo opened the frame with a double to right and scored two batters later on Dietrich's triple to right field. Dietrich scored on Savar's groundout, extending the lead to 12-5.
Cabrini ended the game in the bottom of the fifth as freshman
Katelyn Melahn drew a walk and advanced to third on Gallagher's double to left center. Two batters later, Milillo ended the game with a single to center, scoring Melahn.
Four players recorded three hits in the victory, while Dietrich, Savar, Diegel and Milillo knocked in two runs each. Dietrich also crossed the plate three times. Gallagher surrendered just two earned runs and struck out five to secure the victory.
