Box Score 2 SCRANTON, Pa. - The Cabrini softball team fell to 9-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference after today's 16-2 and 10-2 losses at Marywood University. The Cavaliers now stand at 12-13 overall after today's defeats.
The Cavaliers found themselves in an insurmountable hole after the first inning of the opening game, as the Pacers turned 12 hits into a 14-0 lead after the first inning. Marywood added single runs in the second and fourth innings.
Cabrini finally got on the score board in the top of the fifth inning. Sophomore

Becca Miles who opened the frame with a double, scored on a wild pitch. Freshman
Taylor Gallagher crossed the plate two batters later on a sacrifice fly to left field off the bat of freshman
Taylor Mack.
The Cavaliers recorded just four base hits in the opener and struck out eight times, their second most strike outs this season.
Cabrini looked to rebound in the second game, but Marywood opened the nightcap with a goal in the bottom of the first inning. The Blue and White got the run back in the top of the third inning, as
Amber Dietrich's single down the left field line plated freshman
Natalie Giannascoli.
The Pacers regained the lead in the bottom of the third with a single run then blew the game opened with seven runs in the fourth. The Cavaliers loaded the bases with one out in the fifth but mustered just one run, as sophomore Kailtyn Cooper's fielder's choice scored Mack. Marywood added a run in the bottom of the inning to end the game.
The Cavaliers will look to get back on track on Monday, as they welcome Wesley College to Cabrini Field for a nonconference doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
