Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Cabrini softball team traveled to Arcadia University today for a nonconference doubleheader, and scored a split with the Knights.  The Cavaliers recorded 13 hits in a 10-8 victory in the opener, before suffering a 4-3 walk-of loss in the nightcap.  The Cavaliers now stand at 10-11.

Cabrini jumped out to an early lead in game one, as junior Becca Miles' single to left center scored sophomores Kailtyn Cooper and Lea Enoch.  The Cavaliers held their advantage until the bottom of the second inning, when the Knights turned seven base hits and a pair of Cabrini errors into seven runs.

The Cavaliers didn't fret as they had an answer in the top of the third.  Cabrini responded with seven hits and seven runs of their own during the frame.  Cooper knocked freshman Amber Dietrich with a double to left center.  Miles' single scored Cooper and Enoch.

Freshman Natalie Giannascoli singled down the right field line to plate Miles.  Sophomore Molly McDougall singled through the right side to score Gianascoli and fellow rookie Taylor Mack.  McDougall crossed the plate as the next batter, Dietrich, tripled to right.

Cabrini added an insurance run in the fifth inning as Dietrich's single down the left field line scored Mack.  Arcadia managed five hits and one run over its last two at bats in the sixth and seventh innings, but the Blue and White shut the door in both innings, stranding four runners.

Dietrich went 4-5 in the win, notching her first career four hit game.  Miles matched a season high with four RBI.  Freshman Taylor Gallagher improved to 7-4 with her fourth consecutive victory.

Arcadia opened the scoring in the second game with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.  Again, the Blue and White answered immediately.  Dietrich's single to right scored fellow freshman Brianna Milillo. Freshman Lindsay Savar gave the Blue and White a 2-1 lead as her sacrifice fly to left field plated fellow rookie Katelyn Melahn.

Cabrini held its lead until the bottom of the sixth inning, when Arcadia used a two run single to regain the lead at 3-2.  The Cavaliers responded again as Dietrich's second triple of the day scored Milillo before Dietrich was thrown out at home.

The Knights closed the game in the bottom of the frame as they loaded the bases with one out before scoring the walkoff run with a sacrifice fly.

Dietrich and Milillo accounted for six of Cabrini's seven base knocks in the loss, while Dietrich notched two RBI and a stolen base.  Freshman hurler Kylie Sharp suffered the loss.

Cabrini will return to its home field on Thursday as Delaware Valley College visits Cabrini Field for a nonconference doubleheader.  First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
