BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Cabrini field hockey team snapped its three game losing skid today, as it scored a 3-0 win at Moravian College. The nonconference victory improved the Blue and White to 2-3 on the season.
Junior
Kerry Anne Farrell put the Cavaliers ahead in the fourth minute, as the junior redirected a long pass from fellow junior
Jen Webb. The Blue and White held its slim lead throughout the opening 35 minute period before turning up its pressure after the break.
Cabrini doubled its lead less than three minutes into the second half, as sophomore
Taylor Mack found Webb for the junior's third goal of the campaign. The Cavaliers put the game on ice in the 65th minute, as Farrell collected her own rebound and put it in the back of the net for her fifth tally of the season.
The Cavaliers' offense controlled the second half of the game, evidenced by a 12-3 advantage in shots. Farrell tied a career high with eight shots on the day, as the Blue and White fired a season-high 21 shots, including 14 shots on goal. Mack and senior
Karlie Gruccio added four shots each in the win.
