CHESTER, Pa. – The Cabrini volleyball team quickly shook off any rust after its seven day layoff to score a 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-19) victory at Widener University tonight. With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 10-5 on the season.

Cassidy Koenig led the Blue and White offense with 32 assists and 12 digs for her seventh double-double of the year. Sophomore
Nicole Sokolovich also notched a double-double, her fifth of the campaign, after tallying a team-high 13 kills to go with 10 digs.

Christine Ingargiola added eight kills and two solo blocks, while sophomore
Anne-Marie Jones paired six kills and six digs. Senior

Kelly Guarino posted seven digs each, while Guarino and freshman
Emily Shannon scored two service aces each.
After Cabrini built an early 8-3 lead in the opening set, Widener rallied to gain a 17-14 advantage. The clubs alternated points, as the Pride maintained a slight lead until the final points of the set.
The Blue and White trailed 23-22 when a Sokolovich kill evened the score. A Guarino service ace gave Cabrini its first lead since 12-11 before Koenig found sophomore

Both teams alternated points to open the second frame, but leading 4-3, Cabrini notched six consecutive points to establish a comfortable lead. The Pride pulled to within 15-10 before the Cavaliers ran off another seven straight points before cruising to a 25-15 win and a two sets to none lead.
Cabrini used 4-0 spurt early in the third set to build an 8-3 lead. Widener responded with a run of its own to pull within 13-11. The clubs alternated points before another 4-0 run extended the cushion to 22-15 en route to a 25-19 third set victory.
Nicole Dorman led Widener (9-8) with 14 kills, while Sabrina Barbieri recorded 32 assists and Lauren Elliot 17 digs.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, when they head to Hackettstown, N.J. where they will face Centenary College (1-10, 0-3 CSAC) at 1 p.m. in Colonial States Athletic Conference action and Pratt Institute (3-10) at 2:15 p.m.
