RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini field hockey team saw its five game win streak come to an end tonight, as the Cavaliers suffered a 4-1 loss to the visiting Gettysburg College Bullets. The nonconference loss dropped the Blue and White to 7-6 on the season.
The Bullets opening the scoring at the end of the first half, as they earned a pair of penalty corners in the waning seconds of the opening period, converting the second attempt with no time left on the clock.
The Cavaliers got on the board in the 42nd minute when junior
Taylor Mack raced to a loose ball and chipped a shot over the Gettysburg goaltender for her fourth goal of the season.
Gettysburg wasted little time in regaining the lead, as the Bullets netted goals in the 45th and 46th minutes to build a two goal cushion. The Bullets sealed the win with another tally in the 50th minute of action.
Despite the loss, the Cavaliers outshot the Bullets 19-9, including 11-4 in shots on goal. The Blue and White also earned 13 penalty corners to five for Gettysburg, with eight penalty corners coming after the halftime break.

Jackie Neary led the Cavaliers with six shots, two more than senior
Kerry Anne Farrell. Junior
Kylie McDevitt tallied three shots on the night.
Tonight's game also marked the program's annual Play 4 the Cure game to benefit the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
While the Cavaliers wore pink socks and special warm-up shirts for tonight's game, the evening began with a special address from Marie Schmucker, a former teammate of head coach
Jackie Neary at both Ridley High School and Temple University who is a seven year breast cancer survivor.
Cabrini will return to action on Saturday, as it travels to Gwynedd Mercy (7-4, 3-0 CSAC) for a battle of CSAC unbeaten. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
