GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Cabrini volleyball team extended its win streak to six matches with tonight's victory at the Rowan University Quad. The Cavaliers topped the host Profs 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-14), improving to 21-6 with the nonconference victory.
Sophomore
Nicole Sokolovich led the Blue and White with 12 kills, 12 digs and three service aces, marking her eighth double-double of the season.
Senior
Cassidy Koenig totaled 34 assists and seven digs, while junior
Kelly Guarino added a match-high 14 digs and a pair of service aces.
Seniors
Christine Ingargiola and
Jen Grenauer scored nine and six kills, respectively, without committing an attack error.
After falling behind early in the opening set, the Cavaliers rallied and used a 6-0 spurt to take their first lead as 12-10. The set remained tight, even tied at 16 and 17, before Cabrini closed the set, scoring six of the final seven points of the set.
The Blue and White fell behind again to open the second frame before rallying to even the score at 9-9. After a pair of Profs points, the Cavaliers scored 10 of the next 11 points to build a commanding 19-12 cushion.
Cabrini controlled the final set from the opening serve, building an 11-4 lead. The Cavaliers extended the lead to a 20-9 before cruising to the third set win.
Danielle Havlicek led Rowan (11-15) with 10 kills, while Erica O'Hagan notched 13 digs.
The Cavaliers will continue the Rowan Quad on Saturday, as they will face the University of Scranton (22-9) at 11 a.m. and New York University (11-13) at 1 p.m.
