ASTON, Pa. – The Cabrini field hockey team clinched the number two seed in the upcoming Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament after tonight's 4-3 shootout victory at Neumann.
With the win, the Cavaliers closed their conference slate with a record of 6-1 and improve to 10-7 overall.
The Blue and White will welcome Marywood University (9-7, 5-2 CSAC) to Edith Robb Dixon Field on Wednesday for a CSAC Tournament semifinal round match-up. Game time has not yet been announced.

Despite a blistering 18-1 advantage in shots, the Cavaliers could only record one goal in the opening 35 minutes.

Jen Webb gave the Blue and White its first lead of the night in the 43rd minute, as she completed a cross from junior
Taylor Mack.
The cushion grew to 3-1 just five minutes later, when Mack's cross found Farrell.
Neumann sliced into the lead in the 55th minute and evened the score at 3-3 with less than four minutes remaining on the clock.
The clubs continued to battle, playing two additional 15 minute overtime periods with no more notches in the scoring column.
After 100 minute of action, the game turned to a shootout. While a rare occurrence for the Cavaliers, they were very comfortable in the format, converting three of their four attempts. Conversely, the Knights converted just one of its chances against sophomore goaltender
Taylor Bookman, securing the win for Cabrini.
The Blue and White recorded a season high 39 shots on the night, including 32 attempts on goal. Farrell led the way with 15 shots, including 12 on goal. Senior
Jen Webb notched six shots, while Mack and Phillips added five each.
Bookman posted six saves to earn the victory.
Becky Guinto paired a goal on four shots and two defensive saves for Neumann (9-9, 3-4 CSAC). Goaltender Becca Wallace suffered the loss despite posting 25 saves.
The Cavaliers will celebrate the careers of its eight seniors on Saturday, as the club hosts Alvernia University (10-7, 3-4 MAC Commonwealth). The opening whistle is slated for 12 Noon at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
