Box Score 2 RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini softball team scored a pair of wins today over neighborhood rival Eastern in today's home opening doubleheader. The Blue and White improved to 6-4 overall with today's 6-5 and 8-4 wins at Cabrini Field.
The Eagles held a 5-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning when the Cavaliers found life. Sophomore

Alexandria Ramos reached first with a walk. With two outs and two on base, junior
Kaitlyn Cooper sent one flying over the left center wall, cutting the Cavaliers' deficit to two runs on her first home run of the season.
The score stood at 5-3 until the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, freshman
Christine Ferraro reached first on an infield single to the shortstop. Ramos drew another walk before Cooper smashed another homer to complete the comeback in walk-off fashion.
Cooper finished with six RBI and two home runs, while freshman
Jess Giordano notched the win in the pitcher's circle. Ramos drew two walks and scored twice, while senior
Becca Miles scattered three hits.
The Cavaliers got off to a better start in the second game. In the bottom of the first, Ferraro led off with a single and quickly stole second. The rookie advanced to third on a wild pitch, before scoring on a Ramos double.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Blue and White extended its lead to 4-0. Sophomore
Taylor Mack reached on an infield single and stole second a play later. Cooper landed on first, while Mack reached third after an infield error. With two outs, senior
Steph Diegel stepped into the batter's box and sent one over the fence for a three run homer, her first round tripper of the year.
With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, the Cavaliers scored three runs to extend the lead to 7-0. Freshman
Sarah Beckner reached first on a walk. Freshman
Victoria Hall singled to shortstop, advancing Beckner on the play. Ramos' single up the middle advanced Hall to second and plated Beckner.
Cooper reached first on an error by the shortstop, advancing Hall and Ramos. With the basses loaded, Diegel stepped in and lined a single to left field, scoring Hall. Freshman
Francesca Formisano reached first on an infield error that advanced the runners, plating Ramos.
The Eagles scored in the fifth but the Cavaliers answered right back, after a throwing error by the third baseman scored Hall. Eastern scored two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh as the late rally fell short.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Hohman pitched six innings, allowing three runs on five hits. Diegel finished with a game high four RBI on two hits, while five other Cavaliers tallied hits in in the win.
The Blue and White will host Rosemont (0-8) in a doubleheader on Friday at Cabrini Field. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
