Box Score 2 RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini softball team extended its win streak to six straight games, topping the Rosemont Ravens 9-0 and 10-0 to improve to 8-4 overall and 4-0 in the CSAC.
The Cavaliers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. Freshman Chriistine Ferraro reached on a single through the right side. A throwing error and wild pitch advanced the rookie to third base.
Freshman
Alexandria Ramos singled to center field, scoring Ferraro. Junior
Kaitlyn Cooper reached on a fielder's choice, while senior
Steph Diegel walked the next at bat.
Senior
Becca Miles doubled to right field, platting both runners. Miles advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on sophomore
Lindsay Savar's single.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Cooper extended the lead to 5-0 after doubling down the left field line. The double marked the 100th career hit for the junior.
After a scoreless fifth inning, the Blue and White added four runs in the sixth. An error by the third baseman plated sophomore
Brianna Milillo, who also reached on an error by the third baseman. Junior
Lea Enoch singled to left field and advanced Milillo on the play. Diegel stepped to the plate and smoked a three run walkoff home run to ice the Ravens, marking the senior's 100th career RBI.
Sophomore
Taylor Gallagher improved to 4-1 on the year after another strong outing in the circle. Gallagher pitched six innings, allowed just two hits and tallied eight strikeouts in the shutout win. Ferraro, Ramos and Cooper recorded two hits each, while five Cavaliers tallied at least one RBI in the win.
In the nightcap, Cabrini's offense sparked for seven runs in the first inning. A pair of singles and a walk loaded the basses. A Diegel single to right center advanced the runners and plated Ferraro.
Miles singled a play later as Ramos crossed home plate. An error by the pitcher advanced the runners and scored Cooper. Savar singled up the middle and scored Diegel the next at bat. Another error by the pitcher advanced the runners, scoring Dietrich on the play. Ramos sent one flying to center field, where a botched play scored Savar.
In the second, Diegel reached on a single to the pitcher. Miles grounded out the next at bat and Diegel advanced on the throw. Sophomore
Amber Dietrich tripled a play later, plating Diegel. Dietrich came home to score after sophomore
Natalie Giannascoli singled down the right field line to extend the lead to 9-0.
The Blue and White scored once more in the third inning. Milillo led off with a double and advanced to third of a Gallagher ground out. Millilo scored the next at bat after Cooper grounded out to shortstop.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Hohman tossed 4.2 innings of no hit ball, striking out five Ravens and surrendered just one hit for her third win and second shutout victory on the season. Diegel led the team with two hits, as 10 Cavaliers tallied a hit in the win.
Cabrini will travel to Immaculata, Pa. on Wednesday for a doubleheader against Immaculata (2-8, 2-0 CSAC). First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
