RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini men's lacrosse team made its reservation for next Saturday's Colonial States Athletic Conference championship game with a resounding 18-2 semifinal win over Centenary College today at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
With their seventh staight win, the Cavaliers, who improved to 12-5 on the season, will make their 16th consecutive appearance in the conference championship game. As the tournament's top seed, the Blue and White will host the title game and face the winner of today's other CSAC semifinal game between second seed Marywood and third seed Gwynedd Mercy.
Junior
Ethan Heisman had a career game, as the junior tallied a career best eight points on six goals and two assists. Senior
Tyler Johnston added four goals and helper, while class mate
Mike Leyden paired three goals and an assist. Sophomore
Evan Downey posted a pair of goals, as junior
Kyle Bush recorded a career high three assists.
Cabrini's dominance at the faceoff spot keyed the offense, as the club won the game first 20 faceoffs, going 20-21 on the day. Senior
Anthony DiNenno went 11-11, while junior
Chris Schneekloth won each of his nine chances.
Schneekloth also scooped a career high nine groundballs to go with his second goal of the season. DiNenno added five ground balls, while a quintet of Cavaliers scooped three each. The Blue and White also caused 10 Centenary turnovers on the day, including two each by seniors

Anthony Greco and sophomore
Evan Downey.

Tyler Morrell earned the victory after recording nine saves before being replaced by fellow rookies
Jake Reynolds and
Justin Bullivant.
The Cyclones opened the scoring 99 seconds into the game, but it didn't take long for the Cavaliers to gain control of the game. Over the next 28 seconds, Cabrini scored three goals to take the game's momentum.
Leyden and Johnston combined for the three tallies, assisted by DiNenno and Schneekloth, as the Cavaliers were off and running.
Heisman and Johnston completed their hat tricks in the opening 15 minutes of play, as the lead grew to 8-2 after the first quarter. The duo added goals in the second quarter to extend the Blue and White advantage to 10-2 at the break.
Junior Kenton Gotshall scored both goals for the Cyclones (5-10), while junior netminder Kevin Switzer posted 18 saves.
