Box Score 2 CHESTER, Pa. – The Cabrini softball team closed its regular season with a split at Widener to improve to 25-9 on the year. The Blue and White fell 9-3 in game one, before topping the Pride 7-1 in the second game.
Widener got off to an early start in game one, scoring four runs in the first inning and one in the second.
The Blue and White cut the lead to two in the fourth after a three run rally. Seniors
Steph Diegel and
Becca Miles reached on a pair of walks. Sophomore
Lindsay Savar homered to center field one batter later for her sixth tally on the year.
The Pride scored a run in the fifth and added three more runs in the sixth to seal a 9-3 win.
The Cavaliers managed just three hits in the opener. Sophomore
Kiley Sharp fell to 6-4 in the circle after allowing nine runs in six innings of action.
The Blue and White answered with a game two victory. In the second inning, freshman
Jess Giordano hit a three run home run down the left field line to give the Blue and White a 3-0 lead.
After three scoreless innings, the Cavaliers offense sparked for four runs on three hits in the top of the sixth. Sophomore

Brianna Milillo, while Giordano's single though the left side scored Savar. Gallagher scored on a muffed throw by the second baseman, before Giordano came home to score on sophomore
Amber Dietrich's sacrifice fly.
The Pride scored a run in the seventh but Giordano was able to secure a win for the Blue and White. The rookie improved to 8-3 in the circle after pitching her sixth complete game this season. Giordano finished with a game high four RBI, while her home run in the second inning marked the first of the freshman's collegiate career.
The Cavaliers combined for 10 hits in the win, with Miles and Giordano leading the way with two each.
The Blue and White will return to action on Friday, as it travels to Neumann University in Aston, Pa. for the 2015 CSAC Tournament. As the No. 2 seed, the Cavaliers earned a bye into the double-elimination portion of the tournament. The Cavaliers will open Friday's action at 10 a.m. against one of the winners from Wednesday's opening round games.
