EWING, N.J. – The Cavaliers held tough for a half with the best team in the land, but over the game's 70 minutes Cabrini fell short, losing to No. 1 ranked and defending NCAA champion, The College of New Jersey, 6-1. With the loss, the Blue and White fall to 1-3 on the year.
The Lions jumped to an early lead, opening the scoring just over three minutes into the action. The Cavaliers remained within reach, evening the score in the 27th minute. Senior

TCNJ broke the deadlock in the 34th minute and, despite being outshot 17-1 in the opening 35 minutes, the Cavaliers trailed just 2-1 at the halftime break.
The Lions began to pull away in the opening minutes of the second half, extending its lead in the 40th minute. Cabrini continued to keep TCNJ close, but a pair of Lions' goals in the 54th and 56th minutes proved to be too much for the Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers defense was put to the test, as TCNJ recorded 29 shots to just four for Cabrini. Senior

Taylor Bookman recorded nine saves in the loss.
Jaclyn Douglas led TCNJ (4-0) with three goals and two assists.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Friday, when they travel down the Blue Route to face Widener University (3-0). Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Chester.
