RADNOR, Pa. - The Cabrini volleyball team opened defense of its 2013 and 2014 Colonial States Athletic Conference titles with a resounding 3-0 win over Cairn University tonight at Nerney Field House.  The 25-5, 25-6, 25-9 victory improves the Cavaliers to 7-3 (1-0 CSAC) and extends its conference win streak to 27 matches.

Sophomores Chelsea Jones and Anne-Marie Jones led the Blue and White with six kills each, while senior Christine Ingargiola added five.  Classmate Jen Grenauer and freshman Julianna Fabricius recorded four kills each, one more than sophomore Kaylee Plisinski and freshman Kassie Ockford.

Freshman Ashley Shannon and senior Cassidy Koenig split time at setter tonight, accounting for 16 and 13 assists, respectively.

Sophomore Hailey McDonough posted a career high five service aces in the win, one more than Shannon and senior Harlee Scanlan.

Scanlan added a match-high eight digs, two more than Chelsea Jones.

The Cavaliers have little time to enjoy the victory, as they host Moravian College (3-6) tomorrow.   First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Nerney Field House.
