Field Hockey Tops Cedar Crest 6-1 for 3rd Straight Win

ALLENTOWN, PA – The Cabrini field hockey team scored its third consecutive victory today, topping Cedar Crest College 6-1 in Allentown, PA. The victory improved the Blue and White to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

The Cavaliers were in complete control of today's action, outshooting the Falcons 24-4, including 19-2 in shots on goal.

Junior Maddy Worley led the Blue and White with her second hat trick of the year, while classmate Alex Swallow added a career high five points on two goals and an assist.

Senior Taylor Mack entered the Cabrini record book in the win, as the senior paired a goal and two assists, establishing a new career assist mark with 31 helpers.

Swallow put Cabrini on the board in the 11th minute, as Mack found her in front of the Cedar Crest goal for her record breaking assist. Less than 90 seconds later, Swallow hit Worley for her first tally of the day and a 2-0 lead for the Cavaliers.

Swallow completed her scoring in the 31st minute, collecting a pass from classmate Jackie Neary,  the first of her two assists on the day. Cabrini carried its 3-0 lead into the halftime break after outshooting Cedar Crest 16-2.

The Falcons got on the board in the first minute of the second half on Jennie Fritz's goal.  Worley completed her hat trick in the 44th and 45th minutes, on goals assisted by Neary and Mack.

Mack closed the scoring in the 65th minute, converting a pass from fellow senior Kylie McDevitt.

Wallow recorded a career best six shots in the win, one more than Mack and two more than Neary.

Freshman goaltender Noelia Ramirez recorded the Blue and White's only save, as she played the final 15 minutes in relief of starting netminder Taylor Bookman.

The Blue and White will return to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Marywood University (9-4, 3-1 CSAC) in the team's annual Play for the Cure Breast Cancer Awareness game.  The opening whistle is slated for 4pm at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
