Worley, Mack Lead Field Hockey to 3-2 Win at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, PA – The Cabrini field hockey secured the number two seed in next week's Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament with today's 3-2 victory at Immaculata University.

The Cavaliers' sixth consecutive win improved the club to 10-6 overall and 6-1 in the CSAC.

Junior Maddy Worley led Cabrini with two goals, while senior Taylor Mack added a pair of assists, moving her career total to 101 points.

With Mack's two points today, the senior becomes just the fifth player in program history to reach the century mark.

The Blue and White outshot the Mighty Macs 28-6, including 18-4 in shots on goal, and recorded 14 penalty corners to just two for Immaculata.

Taylor led the Cavaliers with eight shots, two more than junior Jackie Neary.  Worley and freshman MaryKate Kane added four shots each.

Junior goaltender Taylor Bookman earned the victory with a pair of saves.

Worley put Cabrini on the board in the 16th minute, cleaning up a rebound from a saved shot by Mack. The senior recorded her second assist in the 27th minute, as her centering pass found junior Sara Johnsen.

The Mighty Macs cut into the lead just two minutes later, sending the teams into the halftime break with Cabrini leading 2-1.

Worley notched the eventual game-winner in the 46th minute, tipping in a pass from sophomore Alex Swallow.

Despite surrendering a late goal, the Cavaliers allowed Immaculata just two shots in the final 24 minutes of action.

Jackie Wood and Layne Kennedy scored for Immaculata (7-12, 3-4 CSAC), while goaltender Sarah Pasternak tallied 14 saves.

The Cavaliers will close the regular season on Saturday in Reading, PA, as they visit No. 17 Alvernia (17-1, 6-1 MAC Commonwealth) at 2pm.
