RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini softball team is set to host Immaculata today in a doubleheader at Cabrini Field. Game one will be played at noon.
The two teams met in the Colonial State Athletic Conference Championship round on May 2nd last year, where the Blue and White topped the Mighty Macs 8-0.
The Blue and White scored a run in the first inning, four in the second, one in the third and two in the fourth.
Senior
Kaitlyn Cooper went 1-2 at the plate and notched a pair of RBI, as the Cavaliers combined for 13 hits against the Mighty Macs. Junior
Lindsay Savar was 2-2 in the batter's box and scored three times.
Sophomore
Jess Giordano surrendered one hit through five innings of action in the pitcher's circle. The sophomore also struck out a pair of Mighty Macs.
The Blue and White is coming off a 2-0 win at Delaware Valley on Thursday. With the win, the Cavaliers improved to 2-5 on the year.
The Cavaliers opened the scoring in the fourth inning, with one run on two hits. With two outs in the top of the fifth inning, Giordano doubled to center field, plating Cooper.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Giordano pitched out of a jam to secure the win for the Blue and White. With one out and runners on second and third, the sophomore recorded a strike out and a ground out to hold off the Aggies.
Giordano earned her first win in the circle, after throwing six innings. The sophomore struck out three Aggies, allowed four hits and walked two batters.
Freshman
Marissa Alpaugh has been Cabrini's strongest batter through seven games played. The rookie has a team high .350 batting average and seven hits, to go along with two RBI.

Christine Ferraro each have recorded a team high three runs scored.

Kaitlyn Hohman have combined for a pair of wins in the circle for the Blue and White. Giordano leads all pitchers with a 2.52 ERA, while Hohman sits in second with a 3.79 ERA.
Through 25 innings pitched, Giordano has 12 strike outs and nine runs allowed.
The Mighty Macs will look to get back on track against the Cavaliers, as they are 1-7 on the season and currently own a five game losing streak.
Immaculata last played on Saturday, March 12, when it fell 13-5 and 8-0 to King's College. In game one, the Mighty Macs struck first, scoring a run on three hits in the first inning. King's scored a pair of runs in the bottom half to take the lead.
Immaculata fought back after two scoreless innings, notching a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 5-2 lead.
From that point on, it was all King's. In the bottom half of the fifth inning, King's broke open the scoring with six runs on five hits and one error. The eight run rule came into effect after a big sixth inning, as King's scored five runs in the bottom half to close game one.
Four Mighty Macs recorded two hits in the loss. Annemarie Bartow led with two hits, to RBI and one run scored.
In game two, King's tallied a run in the second, two in the fourth and five in the fifth. Melissa Ejk notched a pair of hits in two plate appearances, while three other Mighty Macs picked up a hit in the loss.
Bartow leads the Mighty Macs in the batter's box this season with 12 RBI, 10 hits, six runs scored and three home runs. The sophomore currently holds a team high .370 batting average through eight games played.
Kelsey Collevechio is second on the team with a .360 batting average, nine hits and five runs scored. Ejk is averaging .333, with eight hits, five doubles, two RBI and four runs scored.
In the Circle, Meghan Kugler has one win in four outings for the Mighty Macs, while Jessica Bormann leads the team with a 3.60 ERA. Bormann also leads the team with eight strike outs and a team low 19 runs allowed.
