RADNOR, Pa . - The Cabrini softball doubleheader against Eastern, originally rescheduled for April, 3, will be played tomorrow at Eastern. Game one will start at 3 p.m.
The two teams met at Cabrini Field on March 24 last year, when the Blue and White scored a pair of wins, notching 6-5 and 8-4 victories.
In game one, Eastern held a 5-0 lead in the top half of the fifth but Cabrini fought its way back, scoring three runs in the bottom half and six runs in the seventh to take the win. Senior
Kaitlyn Cooper tallied two three run home runs in the win.
After a poor start in game one, the Cavaliers got off to a hot start in the nightcap, scoring the game's first seven runs. The Eagles scored in the fifth, but the Blue and White answered, as an infield error scored sophomore
Victoria Hall.
Eastern made a valiant comeback effort, notching a pair of runs in the fifth and one in the seventh but sophomore
Taylor Gallagher's work in the circle ended the Eagles run.
The Blue and White improved to 4-5 and 2-0 in the CSAC, after scoring a pair of wins over Immaculata on Saturday. The Cavaliers earned 13-2 and 9-2 victories over the Mighty Macs.
In game one, Cabrini scored five runs in the second inning, six in the third and two in the fourth. The Mighty Macs scored a pair in the fifth but it wasn't enough, as the eight run rule came into effect.
In game two, the Cavaliers bats remained hot, with five runs in the second inning, one in the third and fifth and two in the sixth. Freshman
Sarah Beckner led the way, after connecting on a three run home run, the first of her career, to center field.
The Eagles are 4-10 and 1-1 in the MAC Freedom, after splitting games at Wilkes University on Saturday. Eastern fell 1-0 in game one, before topping Wilkes 10-2 in the nightcap.
With two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, a Wilkes double, followed by an RBI single ended game one.
Eastern responded in game two with two runs in the first, one run in the second and seven in the fifth inning, while holding Wilkes to just two runs.
