Field Hockey Shutout at No. 15 Rowan

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Cabrini field hockey team's quest for a second top 15 victory fell short tonight, as the Cavaliers suffered a 3-0 loss at No. 15 Rowan University. With the loss, the Blue and White fall to 2-4.

Despite falling behind in the 10th minute, Cabrini held its own with the Profs.  The Cavaliers recorded five first half shots and forced four penalty corners, while holding Rowan to seven shots and six penalty corners.

Aided by three saves from junior goaltender Taylor Bookman and a Sara DeVita defensive save, the Cavaliers continued to trail by just one goal until the 57th minute.  The Profs sealed the victory in the 65th minute, as a scramble in front of the Cabrini goal result in the game's third tally.

Rowan turned up its pressure after the half, outshooting the Blue and White 6-1 in the second half and forcing nine penalty corners after the break.

Senior Taylor Mack accounted for three of Cabrini's six shots in the game, one more than junior Maddy Worley.  The duo also recorded both of the club's shots on goal.

Bookman suffered the loss, despite notching five saves.

Bridget Boyle, Jacqui Rosati and Rachel galante scored for Rowan (3-2).

The road gets no easier for the Cavaliers, as they will travel to Salisbury, MD on Saturday, where they will face No. 6 Salisbury (4-1) at 6pm.
