RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini extended its Colonial States Athletic Conference win streak to 39 with tonight's 3-0 victory over the visiting Centenary University Cyclones.
The Cavaliers' 25-6, 25-5, 25-11 win improved the club to 2-8 on the year, including 2-0 in the CSAC, while the Cyclones fell to 1-11 and 0-3 in league play.
The Blue and White controlled the action from the opening whistle and did a majority of its damage from the service line. The Cavaliers recorded 24 service aces on the night, including a career high 11 from senior
Kelly Guarino.
The Blue and White kept the pressure on the Cyclones, allowing Centenary just five kills on the night, while forcing seven attack errors.
Guarino added seven kills and eight digs to her stat line. Freshman
Emily Stokarski tallied 26 assists, five aces and five digs. Sophomore
Emily Shannon notched a match high eight kills, one more than junior
Chelsea Jones and two more than junior
Anne-Marie Jones. Sophomore
Ashley Shannon shared match high honors with eight digs.
Senior Na'imah Spells led Centenary with 10 digs, two more than sophomore Zoey Woody. Senior Jamie Bierbaum paired two kills and five digs.
The Cavaliers will step out of conference play on Saturday, as they welcome Rowan University (3-9) to Nerney Field House. The match, slated to begin at 11am, will mark the first of five home events as the Cavaliers celebrate Homecoming 2016.
