BALTIMORE, MD – The Cabrini volleyball team completed its fifth consecutive undefeated Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule on Thursday, as it topped Notre Dame of Maryland University 3-1.
The victory improved the Cavaliers to 27-5 overall and 11-0 in the conference, while extending its CSAC win streak to 59 matches.
Freshmen
Morgan Collito,
Steph Judkins and
Olivia Blankenbiller posted double-doubles to lead the Blue and White in the 25-23, 25-17, 21-25, 25-11 road victory.
Collito paired 11 kills and 12 digs, while Judkins added 10 kills and 14 digs. Blankenbiller directed the offensive attack with 29 assists and 12 digs.
Junior
Ashley Shannon posted a match-high 27 digs to lead five Cavaliers with at least 12 digs. The junior also joined Judkins with two service assists each.
Like the Blue and White, a trio of Gators (21-6, 7-4 CSAC) recorded double-doubles in the loss.
Sarah Sweet scored 14 kills and 12 digs, while Kayleigh Davis paired 10 kills and 11 digs. Jamie Reyes chipped in with 33 assists and 11 digs.
By virtue of their 11-0 conference mark, the Cavaliers have earned the top seed, home court advantage and a first round bye in next week's CSAC Tournament. Meanwhile, the loss dropped the Gators to the number six seed.
Cabrini will close its season on Saturday as it celebrates Senior Day with a visit from NO. 19 Stevenson (29-1). First serve is slated for 1pm in Nerney Field House, with the Senior Day ceremony to take place just before the match.
