Volleyball Scores 2 Wins at Knights Invitational

ASTON, PA – The Cavaliers scored a pair of wins at the Neumann University Knights Invitational today.  Cabrini topped Salisbury University and Catholic University, improving to 7-3 with its third and fourth consecutive victories.

The Blue and White opened the day with a tough five set victory over the Sea Gulls (9-2). Senior Anne-Marie Jones and freshman Steph Judkins paced the Cavaliers in the 25-23, 13-25, 25-19, 17-25, 16-14 win.

Jones narrowly missed a career high with a match-high 19 kills, while Judkins added a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs.

Senior Kaylee Plisinski added nine kills, while freshman setter Olivia Blankenbiller posted a career high 51 assists. Junior Ashley Shannon earned match-high honors with 31 digs, while sister Emily Shannon added 13 in the victory.

The Cavaliers had little time to enjoy their victory, as a match against Catholic was on deck.

Cabrini continued its hot play, as it rolled to a 25-14, 25-15, 25-10 win over the Cardinals (8-6). A trio of Cavaliers posted 12 kills in the victory, as the Blue and White recorded a season high .447 hitting percentage.

Judkins, Jones and Emily Shannon posted 12 kills each, while Blankenbiller directed the attack to the tune of 44 assists.  Ashley Shannon led the Cavaliers with 18 digs and a career best six service aces.

Judkins was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Cavaliers will open Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Tuesday, as they face a pair of road contests.  Cabrini will visit Clarks Summit (0-10, 0-0 CSAC) at 5pm and Keystone (3-6, 1-0 CSAC) at 7:30pm in a rematch of the 2016 CSAC championship match.
