LA PLUME, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference play tonight with a pair of 3-0 road victories. The Cavaliers topped Clarks Summit and Keystone, improving to 9-3 overall.
The conference wins also extended the Blue and White's conference win streak to 50 matches, a streak that dates back to October 1, 2012.
The Cavaliers opened the night's action with a 25-18, 25-15, 25-16 victory at Clarks Summit. Freshman
Steph Judkins led Cabrini with 12 kills and eight digs.
Fellow rookie
Olivia Blankenbiller had a solid all-around match, posting 18 assists, five kills, a career high five service aces and eight digs. Junior
Ashley Shannon added a match high nine digs.
Grace Evans led Clarks Summit (0-12, 0-1 CSAC) with six kills and six digs, while Alexa Wagner added 17 assists.
The Cavaliers then hit the road for the short trip to Keystone for a rematch of the 2016 CSAC championship match. Tonight's 25-10, 25-15, 25-16 result proved to be much different than the thrilling five set match in November.
Freshman
Morgan Collito led the charge in the nightcap, narrowly missing a double-double. The rookie posted nine kills, a match-high 11 digs, three service aces and three assists.
Judkins recorded a match-high 13 kills, while senior
Anne-Marie Jones added eight kills. Blankenbiller collected 25 assists.
Amanda Hardy led Keystone (3-7, 1-1 CSAC) with six kills, one more than Nicole Frascati, Taylor Beatty and Kristen Larkin.
Cabrini will make its Nerney Field House debut on Thursday, as the Cavaliers host Immaculata. First serve is slated for 7pm.
