SWARTHMORE, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team extended its win streak to 10 matches tonight, as the Cavaliers opened the Swarthmore College Garnet Classic with a 3-0 victory over Widener University.
The 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 victory improved the Blue and White to 13-3 overall.
Freshman
Morgan Collito paced the Cavaliers with a season-high 14 kills against just one attack error. The rookie also notched 12 digs, marking her third double-double of the season.
Fellow freshman
Steph Judkins added 12 kills and eight digs for the Blue and White, while classmate
Olivia Blankenbiller paired 38 assists and six digs.
Sophomore Kristen Betterman tallied a season-high 16 digs, while senior
Kaylee Plisinski added four total blocks.
Nicole Dorman led Widener (6-11) with 11 digs.
In tonight's second match, Swarthmore topped SUNY Oneonta 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 26-14).
The Cavaliers will return to Swarthmore on Saturday for day two of the Classic. Cabrini will look to extend its win streak, as it faces SUNY Oneonta (7-11) at 12 noon and the host Garnet (8-5) at 4pm.
