SWARTHMORE, PA – The Cavaliers pushed their win streak to 11 matches before it came to an end this evening, as the Cabrini volleyball team split a pair of matches today at the Swarthmore College Garnet Classic.
The Blue and White rallied to score a 3-2 win over SUNY Oneonta before suffering a 3-0 loss to the host Garnet. Cabrini moves to 14-4 overall with the results of today's nonconference action.
After dropping the first two sets to SUNY Oneonta 25-17 and 25-20, the Cavaliers mounted a comeback. Trailing 9-7 in the third frame, the Blue and White used an 8-1 spurt to take control of the set before taking it 25-22.
The fourth set played out like the third, as Cabrini strung together four consecutive points late in the set, before winning the final three points en route to a 25-20 win to even the match.
The Cavaliers trailed for much of the deciding fifth set as SUNY Oneonta built a commanding 12-7 lead. A kill by senior
Anne-Marie Jones returned the serve to Cabrini, as sophomore
Kristen Bettermann took over from the service line.
The sophomore served the Blue and White to the final eight points of the match. Three of Cabrini's points came via service ace, including the final point of the match.
Freshman
Steph Judkins led Cabrini with 24 kills, while Jones paired 12 kills and eight digs. Senior
Chelsea Jones paired 11 kills with a career best four service aces.

Olivia Blankenbiller posted a career best 54 assists, while junior
Ashley Shannon tallied a match-high 21 digs, three more than
Emily Shannon.
Cabrini could not carry the momentum from its first match into the nightcap against the host Swarthmore, as the Blue and White suffered a 25-22, 25-15, 26-24 loss.
Blankenbiller posted her fifth double-double of the week, pairing 32 assists and 12 digs. Judkins added a team-high 12 kills, while
Anne-Marie Jones and freshman
Morgan Collito added eight kills each.
Ashley Shannon led Cabrini with 23 assists, while
Emily Shannon posted 17.
Anne-Marie Jones was named to the Garnet Classic All-Tournament Team after posting 25 kills through the weekend's three matches.
Cabrini will look to begin a new streak on Friday, as it pays a visit to Rowan University. First serve is scheduled for 7pm in Glassboro, NJ.
