Last Meeting: Yellow Jackets shut out Cavaliers, 2-0 (9/1/2002)
Saturday's matchup between the Cavaliers and Yellow Jackets will be the first in over 15 years, with the last dating back to 2002. Randolph-Macon earned the victory in the aforementioned matchup by a 2-0 decision.
Outside of the final score, the only real statistical advantage the Yellow Jackets held over the visiting Cavaliers was a 14-8 advantage in shots. Senior Bryan Lutz tallied a pair of goals in the second half as the Randolph-Macon men's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over host Marymount on Wednesday evening for its third straight shutout win.
Lutz netted his first goal in the 47th minute on an assist by sophomore Paul Duffy to give R-MC a 1-0 lead. Lutz scored his second goal in the 89th minute, assisted by senior Jacob McHugh to make the final 2-0.
Lutz now leads the Yellow Jackets with three goals and six points on the season. R-MC held a 19-7 advantage in shots. Lutz paced the victors with five shots, including three on goal.
