GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA – The Cavaliers lost their second Atlantic East Conference defeat of the season tonight, as the Cabrini field hockey team fell to the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins 5-0.
The loss dropped the Blue and White to 3-7 on the season and 0-2 in league play.
The Griffins took the lead in the eighth minute and never looked back. GMercyU added a goal in the 30th frame before pulling away in the second half.
The Cavaliers' defensive effort was put to the test, as the club was outshot 14-0. Cabrini also had to defend 15 Gwynedd Mercy penalty corners.

Devon Scharf recorded seven save sin the loss, while sophomore
Emily Manda notched a defensive save.
Shannon Carroll led the Griffins (7-4, 2-0 Atlantic Eat) with five shots and was one of five players to mark the scoring column.
The Cavaliers will look to rebound on Tuesday, when they host Susquehanna University (5-7, 1-2 Landmark) in the team's annual Play for the Cure Cancer Awareness game. The opening whistle is scheduled for 4pm.
