DOVER, DE - The Cabrini field hockey team dropped its fourth consecutive game, as it suffered a 3-1 loss at Wesley College tonight. The loss dropped the Cavaliers to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in the Atlantic East Conference.
Sophomore
Katie Heck netted the lone goal for the Blue and White in the 62nd minute, her second goal of the season. The junior was in the right place at the right time to collect the rebound off a shot by freshman
Allison Martin.
Heck and Martin combined for seven of Cabrini's eight shots on the night and each of the team's four shots on goal.
Cabrini's junior goaltender
Devon Scharf tallied eight saves in the loss.
Wesley (6-9, 2-2 Atlantic East) grabbed the lead in the 24th minute, when Kaila Hindt scored the first of her two goals. Hindt added her second tally on the rebound from a Scharf save in the 43rd frame. Hindt's pass sprung Kristen Fuhr for a 55th minute breakaway to close the Wolverines' scoring.
Hindt earned match-high honors with six shots, while netminder Lauren Berry recorded a pair of saves.
The Cavaliers' next chance to find a victory comes on Saturday, when the Blue and White heads to Scranton, PA to face Marywood (9-5, 2-2 Atlantic East). Game time is slated for 4pm.
