IMMACULATA, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team continued its recent hot play, as the Cavaliers scored a 3-0 victory at Immaculata.
Tonight's match marked Cabrini's first Atlantic East Conference contest, as the University was one of seven founding members to begin competition in the league in September.
The 25-11, 25-12, 25-18 victory improved the Blue and White to 13-6 and extended the team's conference win streak to 60 matches. The win also marked Cabrini's 13th win in its last 14 contest.
Junior
Katrina Shelly and sophomore
Steph Judkins paced the Cabrini offense, accounting for 21 of the team's 29 kills. Judkins paired 11 kills and eight digs, while Shelly added 10 kills, seven digs and three blocks.
Freshman
Lexi Conte chipped in with 12 assists, six digs and a pair of service aces, with classmate
Amelia Ballard tallying 10 assists, eight digs and four aces. Fellow rookie
Gina Custer earned match-high honors with 15 digs and matched Conte with two aces.
Madi Curley and Jade Rindock led the Mighty Macs (3-8, 0-1 Atlantic East) with four kills each.
The Cavaliers will return to Nerney Field House on Saturday, as they host Wesley College (9-11, 1-0 Atlantic East) and Susquehanna University (11-7, 1-1 Landmark) in a tri-match.
Cabrini will host Wesley in conference play at 12 noon and meet Susquehanna at 4pm. Wesley and Susquehanna will match wits at 2pm.
