EWING, NJ – The Cabrini field hockey team looked to change its recent fortunes as it paid a visit to The College of New Jersey, but the Cavaliers' upset bid fell short, as the Blue and White suffered an 8-0 loss to the No. 5 ranked Lions.
The Cavaliers fell to 3-11 with their sixth consecutive defeat, while TCNJ improved to 12-3.
TCNJ took control of the action from the opening whistle, as it grabbed the lead just 79 seconds into the game. The Lions doubled their lead at the 7:00 mark and held a commanding 3-0 lead less than 15 minutes after the opening whistle.
The Cavaliers trailed 5-0 after an opening 35 minute period that saw Cabrini outshot 17-1 and defend five penalty corners.
Cabrini never found its offensive footing, recording just one shot in the second half and finishing the game without a penalty corner.

Tori Hannah paired three goals and two assists, while Tori Tiefenthaler and Cayla Andrews added two goals each for TCNJ.
The Cavaliers will return to Edith Robb Dixon Field on Thursday, as they host Immaculata University (1-17, 0-4 Atlantic East). Both clubs will be seeking their first Atlantic Conference victories when they meet at 6pm.
