RADNOR, PA –
The Cabrini field hockey team closed its inaugural Atlantic East Conference slate on a high note tonight, as the Cavaliers scored a 2-1 victory over Immaculata University.

With the win, the Cavaliers snapped their six game losing skid and improved to 4-12 overall.

By virtue of its 1-4 mark in the Atlantic East Conference, the Blue and White has secured the number five seed in the upcoming conference tournament and will visit fourth seeded Neumann University in Monday's quarterfinal round.

Tonight's game also marked the final home appearance for Cabrini's four seniors, Erin Anzideo, Katie Heck, Katie Kucia and Devon Scharf.

As a group, these ladies have led Cabrini to 36 victories, including a 18-8 record in conference games and two conference championships.

The Blue and White jumped on the board early, as freshman Allison Martin hit sophomore Trisha Billig for a goal in the seventh minute.

Cabrini carried its slim lead until the 41st minute of action, when the Martin-Billig duo paid dividends again, extending the Cavaliers' lead to 2-0.

Trailing 2-0, the Mighty Macs turned up their offensive attack, recording all 10 of its second half shots after Billig's second goal.

The Immaculata pressure pair off in the 57th minute, when a loose ball deflected off a Cabrini stick to Mighty Macs sophomore Willa Thompson for a goal.

While Immaculata's push to even the score put the Cabrini defense on its heels, Scharf kept the ball out of the Blue and White cage, recording six of her seven saves in the second half

Billig led the Cavaliers with four of its 11 shots in the win, one more than freshman Kaitlyn Martin.

Thompson and freshman Macy Green attempted four shots each for Immaculata (1-18, 0-5 Atlantic East), while junior goaltender Jackie Victor notched four saves.
