RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team battled Neumann University through three tough sets, but in the end the Cavaliers scored a 3-0 victory over the Knights tonight at Nerney Field House.
The win improved the Blue and White to 15-7 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic East, while extending its conference win streak to 62 matches.
Four Cavaliers recorded at least five kills in the 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 victory.
Sophomore
Steph Judkins led the way with 15 kills and two service aces, while junior
Katrina Shelly added eight kills. Freshman
Hannah Dalton chipped in with six kills and three total blocks.
Freshman

Cabrini built an early 11-6 lead in the opening set, but as one would expect when the Cavaliers and Knights get together, it would not take long for the Cavaliers' lead to evaporate.
Neumann chipped away, leveling the score at 18. Minutes later, a Neumann attack error and Shelly kill gave the Blue and White a 21-19 cushion. The Knights could not erase the advantage before a Judkins kill ended the opening frame.
The roles were reversed in the second set, as the Knights built an early lead. The Cavaliers mounted a comeback of their own, tying the score at 8-8. Cabrini took its first lead on a Neumann service error and never looked back.
The Cavaliers used four 3-0 spurts to maintain control of the score board, en route to a second set win.
Cabrini carried its momentum into the third set, building an early 6-2 lead. The advantage grew as large as 17-8. Trailing 21-14, the Knights began their comeback, slicing Cabrini's lead to 21-19.
Head coach
Eric Schaefer called a time out to refocus the Cavaliers. A Neumann error led to a 3-0 Cabrini spurt and a commanding 24-19 lead.
Junior Melanie Malseed led the Knights (10-12, 2-1 Atlantic east) with 11 kills, while classmate Hayley Glah added 15 digs. Junior Rachel Cray and sophomore Alex Koppany combined for 25 assists.
The Cavaliers have little time to enjoy tonight's win, as they will return to the court tomorrow, when they host Gwynedd Mercy (10-8, 0-2 Atlantic East). First serve is scheduled for 7pm at Nerney Field House.
