ASTON, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team pushed its current win streak to six matches today, as the Cavaliers topped Salisbury 3-2 and Moravian 3-0 to close the Neumann University Knights Invitational.
The wins improved the Blue and White to 6-5 on the season.
A trio of Cavaliers scored double-doubles as Cabrini battled its way to a 23-25, 25-10, 25-10, 20-25, 15-10 win over Salisbury (8-5).
Sophomore
Steph Judkins led the way with 22 kills and 12 digs. Freshman
Amelia Ballard paired 30 assists and 11 digs, while senior
Emily Shannon added 23 assists and 17 digs to her seven kills in the match.
Junior
Katrina Shelly aided the offense with 15 kills, while senior
Ashley Shannon scored a team-high 22 digs. Freshman
Hannah Dalton added four service aces and four total blocks in the win.
The Blue and White stayed hot, as it scored a 25-11, 25-21, 28-26 win over Moravian (6-8).
The trio of Judkins, Ballard and
Emily Shannon led the Cavaliers in the nightcap as well. Judkins tallied her sixth double-double of the season with a match-high 18 kills and a team high 15 digs. Ballard and Shannon combined for 39 assists and posted 12 digs each.
Freshman
Gina Custer added 13 digs, two more than
Ashley Shannon. Shelly chipped in with 12 kills, while Danton notched 10.
Judkins was named to the All-Invitational Team after recording 78 kills with a .325 hitting percentage and 46 digs in four matches over the weekend.
The Cavaliers will host a familiar foe on Tuesday, when they return to Nerney Field House, as they will face Moravian again. First serve is slated for 7pm.
