Volleyball Splits Matches on Day 2 at Ospreys Classic

GALLOWAY, NJ – The Cabrini volleyball team split a pair of matches today to close the Stockton University Ospreys Classic, falling to the host 3-1 before scoring a 3-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham.

Today's results moved the Blue and White to 10-6 on the season.

Senior Emily Shannon fell one kill shy of a triple-double in the Cavaliers' 25-12, 17-25, 25-16, 25-23 loss to Stockton. The senior posted nine kills, 18 assists and 14 digs. 

Sophomore Steph Judkins joined the senior with a double-double, pairing 18 kills and 12 digs.

Freshman Amelia Ballard recorded 19 assists, while senior Ashley Shannon added 25 digs.  Freshman Hannah Dalton accounted for four of Cabrini's 10 total blocks in the match.

Emily Sullivan paired 40 assists for the Ospreys (11-4), while Julie Kohlhoff and Allie Desmond combined for 23 digs.  

The Cavaliers rebounded in the nightcap, rolling to a 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 win over FDU-Florham.

Judkins paced the Blue and White offense with 17 kills, while junior Katrina Shelly and Emily Shannon combined for 15 kills.

Ballard posted 20 assists, with Emily Shannon adding 13.  Both also recorded eight digs, three fewer than Ashley Shannon.

Katie Quinlan led the Devils (4-12) with 13 kills, one more than Lauren Harris, while Kacie Ros paired 28 assists and 11 digs.

Dalton was named to the Ospreys All-Tournament Team after recording 21 kills, 22 total blocks, including eighth solo blocks, 14 digs and four service aces through the weekend's four matches.

The Cavaliers will return to action on Thursday, when they welcome Widener University (9-9) to Nerney Field House. First serve is scheduled for 7pm.
